Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank ready to tackle Ardennes Classics

April 13, 2021

After a short break in racing due to Paris Roubaix's postponement, Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank is back at it, starting this week with Brabantse Pijl on Wednesday, April 14th.

The highly anticipated inaugural women's Paris Roubaix, which was slated for Easter weekend, was put on hold due to Covid-19 restrictions. Now rescheduled for October 2nd, 2021, Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank must patiently wait few more months to experience the "Hell of the North." Cannondale recently highlighted Team TIBCO Silicon Valley Bank in a captivating piece on the importance of a women's Paris-Roubaix, equity in sport, and empowering others.

"We are so excited to get back to European spring racing after a short hiatus training together and doing course recon to prepare for the next block," Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank Sports Director Rachel Hedderman said. "We're itching to get back to the start line and look forward to four world-class races in the Ardennes."

De Brabantse Pijl serves as a warm-up of sorts for the higher-profile events later in the week, but the final Flanders Classic is still a highly sought-after title. The 127-kilometer route features no less than 22 climbs over the arduous terrain of Southeast Belgium.

La Fleche Wallonne Féminine, to be held April 21st, has the distinction of being the third oldest women's race on the calendar. That prestige attracts a world-class field to this Women's WorldTour race, eager to make their name on the Mur de Huy, the iconic and pivotal ascent to the finish line that, without fail, always adds an extra dose of drama to the event.

The famous climbs Côte de La Redoute, Côte de la Roche aux faucons, and Côte de Saint-Nicolas are all featured in the latter portion of the race, guaranteed to create a finale that is full of suspense.
