Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank Kicks off the Season at the Santos Tour Down Under

Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank is in Australia for their first team race of the 2020 season: the Santos Tour Down Under, the opening women’s event on the international cycling calendar. The four-stage race covers many communities that have been ravaged by the recent wildfires. The race will bring visitors, business and spectators back to the these local towns and communities.

 

The team’s roster for TDU will be:  Erica Clevenger (USA), Jenelle Crooks (NZL), Sarah Gigante (AUS), Nina Kessler (NED), Sharlotte Lucas (NZL) and Lauren Stephens (USA).

 

“We’re proud to be kicking off the season once again at the Tour Down Under and to support the communities who have faced such tragedies over the past months,” said Linda Jackson, Founder of Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank. “The team is ready to race and kick off the season together.”

 

2020 Santos Women's Tour Down Under Course Preview: 

 

 

The first stage starts in the historic town of Hanhdorf in the Adelaide Hills, a rolling, 116.3-km course with over 1,500 meters of climbing. 

 

The second stage, starting in Novatech, is full of climbing over its 114.9 kilometers. Riders will head again into the Adelaide Hills via Nairne and Balhannah. The stage’s featured climb, Christmas Tree Ridge at Forreston, hits an 11% grade before heading into the finish at Birdwood. 

 

Stage 3 starts in Nairne and covers 109.1 kilometers over another rolling course with over 1,600 meters of climbing before its finish in Stirling.

 

The final stage will bring an exciting conclusion to the Women’s Tour Down Under, featuring a short, 1.7km circuit through the center of Adelaide.
