Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank Scores Victories at BC Superweek

July 8, 2019

July 7, 2019 — With three days of racing underway at BC Superweek, Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank has scored two victories already, with 6 more races over the next week. Canadian Alison Jackson scored today’s win at the UCI 1.2 White Spot | Delta Road Race, adding to her 2nd place on the opening event, the North Delta Criterium.

Returning champion Kendall Ryan (USA), who just finished USA Track Nationals, is back at BC Superweek and won yesterday’s Ladner Criterium in an impressive sprint finish.

The roster for BC Superweek is Alison Jackson (CAN), Nina Kessler (NED), Sharlotte Lucas (NZL), Emily Marcolini (CAN) and Kendall Ryan (USA).

On her victory today, Alison Jackson said, “I’m really happy to take this win in Canada. It means a lot to me that the team believed I could win this race and supported me. It’s hard to win bike races, so I am soaking this in. Also, it was awesome to have champagne and flowers to celebrate my in-laws’ 35th wedding anniversary today, as they came to watch the race!”

Kendall Ryan, who is a BC Superweek veteran and won all three races at the Tour de Delta, along with a total of six podiums in 2018, added, “I’m really happy to be back at BC Superweek with the team! I have had a lot of success here and am glad to have good sprinting legs again!”

Ryan joined the team at BC Superweek after competing at the USA Cycling Track Nationals in Carson, CA, where she claimed a silver medal in the Scratch race. Ryan also sprinted for a bronze medal at USA Cycling Criterium Nationals.

“Criterium Nationals went okay for me; 3rd place isn’t what I wanted, but I will use that to fuel my fire here at BC Superweek,” said Ryan. “I just finished Track Nationals and came in 2nd in the Scratch race. I hopped on a flight up to BC Superweek and decided at the last minute to race the Ladner Criterium and won, so I’m glad that worked out! I feel confident going into the next week with the feeling in my legs and the capabilities of my teammates!”
