In addition to the Tour of the Gila, Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank will be racing the ASDA Tour de Yorkshire Women’s Race this Friday and Saturday, May 3-4. For the first time, both stages of the women’s event will be held on the exact same courses as in the men’s races, making this the longest and most challenging edition of the race.

Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank’s roster for the Tour de Yorkshire will be Alison Jackson (CAN), Nina Kessler (NED), Shannon Malseed (AUS), Rozanne Slik (NED) and Lauren Stephens (USA).

The Tour de Yorkshire features a total of 264km and around 10,500 feet of climbing over the two days of racing. The first stage, covering 132 kilometers, features some of the same roads being used for the 2019 UCI World Championships, with an intermediate sprint added in the exact place of the finish line for the Championships. The day begins in Barnsley and heads northeast to Pontefract, around Leeds and into the main climb of the day: the Côte de Lindley. The race continues north for a fast and flat finish into the town of Bedale.

The second stage, also 132 kilometers, offers more climbing. Riders will start in Bridlington and head into the North York Moors National Park, where they will face the Côte de Silpho. After an undulating 52km loop, the main climbs of the day are in the latter part of the race: the Côte de Hooks House Farm, Côte de Lythe Bank, Côtes de Grosmont and Ugglebarnby, with the final two only 7km apart. Once riders get through the climbs, it will be another fast sprint around the castle walls and into a stunning finish in Scarborough along North Bay.
