Pescadero, CA — March 16, 2018 — While securing multiple podium finishes at the Redlands Bicycle Classic in Southern California this week, Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank’s squad in Europe is preparing for the next stop on the UCI Women’s World Tour: Ronde van Drenthe this Sunday, March 17. The 165-kilometer race is known for its cobbled sections, windy stretches and four laps over a punchy climb - the VAM Berg.
Lining up for Drenthe will be: Brodie Chapman (AUS), Ingrid Drexel (MEX), Alison Jackson (CAN), Nina Kessler (NED), Rozanne Slik (NED) and Kendall Ryan (USA).
Ronde van Drenthe typically comes down to a whittled down field sprint, favoring sprinters who can ascend the VAM Berg and handle the narrow cobblestone sections in good position. Built over a former trash pile, the VAM Berg is where attacks often happen, and the field splinters.
After Jackson’s top 20 finish at Drentse Acht van Westerveld yesterday, the team will be looking to be back in the mix at Drenthe.
