Rider Preview: Strade Bianche

Hear what some of our riders have to say about racing our first UCI WWT event of the 2019 season, kicking off in Italy with the iconic Strade Bianche race, with eight gravel sections and punchy climbs. Read the full race preview

Alison Jackson (CAN) - "This is my 1st time doing Strade Bianche. I'm looking forward to a *hopefully* warm edition, a hard race, and those iconic white dirt roads"...

Brodie Chapman (AUS) - "This is my first time racing Strade Bianche, and I’m extremely excited to line up. I’m even more pumped to have such an enthusiastic team - bring on the white roads!"

Nina Kessler (NED) - "This will be my 2nd time to start in Strade. The first time I gave my wheel to a teammate, and that was the end of the race for me. I am really looking forward to start with the team. It will be a hard race, but with this team I think we can do really good!"

Kendall Ryan (USA) - "This will be my 2nd time racing Strade Bianche. The first time doing this race was in 2016, and I had a broken wrist (but didn't know it at the time). I started the race but couldn’t hang onto the bars shortly after reaching the first gravel section and had to withdraw from the race.

"This year I am excited to race with some great fitness from the Track racing season, and my bionic wrist that is stronger than before!! ;) I feel the squad we have brought here is capable of anything the Spring Classics throw at us, and I’m really excited to do my part in contributing to these efforts."

Rozanne Slik (NED) - “This will be my 4th Strade Bianche; it's a very special race to me and suits me well. I am very much looking forward to race the gravel sections. They bring a lot of suffering, but it's fun to race them as fast as we can. I can't wait to finally start the season with the team!”
