Churchill, Victoria (Australia) — In a gritty performance on Stage 2 of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, Brodie Chapman (AUS) scored a podium finish and secured 3rd overall for the tour. Canadian Alison Jackson also finished in the top 10, placing 9th on the stage and overall after the grueling climb up Dobbins Road.

The final climb in Stage 2 shattered the peloton, with just a few riders able to contend for a spot on the podium, including Chapman. Lucy Kennedy surged ahead over the top of the climb and finished 1st overall. Brodie chased her way back and finished just behind Kennedy’s teammate, Amanda Spratt.

“The Jayco Herald Sun Tour has cemented itself as one of my favourite races on the UCI calendar. The race was exciting and dynamic, and our team executed the plan perfectly,” said Chapman.

“I am really happy with a podium. The best climber won today, and I am honoured to be around such classy racers. It was hard, and I can’t thank my team enough for their belief and encouragement.

“My equipment was once again flawless, and I was happy to have my coach Kim Palmer's support, who was also DS’ing. This race was a really satisfying way to wrap up the Australian summer of cycling.”

The squad now heads to Northern California for team camp and the formal team presentation event, which will take place on February 16 (from 1:30pm-4pm at iTalico Restaurant in Palo Alto).

“We’re proud of how the team has performed in Australia throughout this first block of racing,” said Linda Jackson, Founder and General Manager of Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank. "A huge thank you goes out to Kim Palmer, High Performance Cycling Director and Coach, for guest-directing for this block. She did a terrific job with the team.

"I am looking forward now to having the whole team together in California to connect with each other and with some of our partners who have been an integral part of our team through the years. We’ve grown from being a small ‘startup’ based in Silicon Valley to becoming a formidable force in World-class races. We’re looking forward to kicking off our season in Silicon Valley with our local community and key supporters."
