Fresh off the double-header UCI World Tour weekend in Sweden, Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank now heads into a double race weekend with two groups of riders racing simultaneously at the Ladies Tour of Norway and the 2018 Colorado Classic.
The roster for the Ladies Tour of Norway is Nicolle Bruderer (GTM), Brodie Chapman (AUS), Ingrid Drexel (MEX), Alison Jackson (CAN), Shannon Malseed (AUS) and Valentina Scandolara (ITA).
Racing in Colorado will be Lex Albrecht (CAN), Kate Buss (USA), Emily Newsom (USA), Kendall Ryan (USA) and Jennifer Tetrick (USA).
The Ladies Tour of Norway, the next stop on the UCI Women’s World Tour calendar, kicks off with a prologue: a 24.3-kilometer team time trial on Thursday, August 16. The next three stages preview the countryside of Norway, beginning in Rakkestad for the stage 1, a challenging 128-kilometer course that is the hilliest in the event’s history.
Stage 2 begins in Fredrikstad and finishes with an exciting circuit in downtown Sarpsborg. The final stage, the ”Swe-Nor-stage” starts on the old Svinesund bridge, with half of the riders starting in Norway and the other half starting in Sweden. The course then progresses into Sweden before returning to Norway, completing the 154-kilometer race in downtown Halden.
Meanwhile, in Colorado, the team will be taking on the challenging four-stage Colorado Classic. Also starting on Thursday, August 16, Stage 1 begins at the Mountain Plaza in picturesque Vail Village (8,150 feet above sea level), with a four lap course and 2,567 feet of climbing. The technically-challenging route goes up a dirt climb, which marks the QOM point, before heading back into Vail for each lap. The next day, the team will be facing the storied Vail Time Trial course, a 9.87-mile climb, ascending 1,574 feet before finishing near the top of Vail Pass.
The final two stages of the Colorado Classic head into Denver and will be a highlight of the Velorama Festival, a weekend-long celebration of bikes and music. The women’s criterium races will be an event feature with spectator-lined streets, music, food and fun.
