Two National Championship Titles Secured in the Individual Time Trial
Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank added two national championship titles to their 2018 record. For the second year in a row, Nicolle Bruderer of Guatemala and Ingrid Drexel of Mexico claimed the national championship titles in the individual time trial. Earlier this year, Shannon Malseed became Australia’s 2018 Road National Champion.
“We are proud to have three current national champions on our roster,” said Linda Jackson, Founder of Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank. “As a team, we have committed to expanding opportunities for our riders and to help them pursue their Olympic dreams. This has included focusing on the UCI World Tour races and also National Championships. I am happy for Ingrid and Nicky and to see their hard work pay off with another national title in the individual time trial.”
"I'm really happy to be able to wear the Mexican National Championship Voler skinsuit for another year," said Ingrid Drexel. "The TT is such a special event because it's just you and the bike. It's all about pure power, focus and heart, so to prove my strength is always a good thing! It's an honor to represent my country and to have the chance to race for a National title."
“It has been so amazing to wear the Guatemalan colors all year, and while I would have loved to be the road race champion again, I am very happy to have won the individual time trial,” said Bruderer. “I’m thankful for this opportunity to be racing with Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank and to continue to grow my abilities and experience as an athlete.”
With twelve riders from six countries, Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank has been racing around the world during the remaining 2018 National Championship events. Only one national championship race remains for Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank riders, Alice Cobb and Emma Grant. The British National Championship road race will take place on Sunday, July 1, in Northumberland. Follow the British Road National Championship race here.
