The American roster includes Kate Buss, Emily Newsom, Kendall Ryan and Jennifer Tetrick, while inCanada, Alison Jackson will be lining up for her chance at a title.
Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank has a long history of national titles dating back to 2008 when Brooke Miller became the first woman to win both the national road race title and criterium title in the same year, and the team’s roster currently includes three national champions: Malseed (AUS), Nicolle Bruderer (GTM) and Ingrid Drexel (MEX). Next week, both Bruderer and Drexel will be competing to defend their double National Championship titles in the road race and individual time trial. British riders Alice Cobb and Emma Grant will be competing in their national championship event starting June 27.
The races in Knoxville, TN, for USA Cycling Nationals and Saguenay, QC, for Canadian Nationals begin this morning with the individual time trial. Next up for the USA will be the criterium on Friday evening. Former USA Criterium National Champion Kendall Ryan is coming off some big victories, including a World Tour win at Stage 1 of the Amgen Tour of California and will be a strong play for the team in any sprinting opportunities, while Newsom Buss and Tetrick will be looking to optimize their strength advantage playing for breakaway and selection prospects.
