Shannon Malseed Representing Australia in the Commonwealth Games Today
Pescadero, CA, April 13 - Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank rider Shannon Malseed will be representing Australia in the Commonwealth Games this Saturday, April 14, with the women's road race starting at 7:45am in Australia, 2:45pm PST today. Malseed’s victory at the Australian National Championships earlier this year qualified her for a position on the Australian team for the road race at the Games.
Set against the Gold Coast backdrop, the challenging road course will cover 7 laps of a 20km circuit, each lap with two short, steep climbs. In an interview earlier this year with Edco Wheels, Malseed said, “I am laser focused on the preparation, to give myself and the rest of the Australian team the best chance to arrive at the start line on Saturday in the best possible condition… [To win] in front of a home crowd - that would really be a special feeling.”
“Shannon has shown such resilience and talent,” said Linda Jackson, . “We are cheering for her back in the US, and know that our friends and partners in Australia will be there on the line cheering her on as well.” To follow the race, visit the Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018 website.
