Pescadero, CA — Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank today announced its roster for the next UCI Women’s World Tour race: the 20th Trofeo Alfredo Binda on March 18. Joining the team for the first time this season, Australian rider Brodie Chapman will be lining up with teammates Alice Cobb (GBR), Alison Jackson (CAN), Emma Grant (GBR), Lex Albrecht (CAN) and Shannon Malseed (AUS).
The 131km race features a large lap through the Northern Italian hills and four 18km finishing circuits that go through Cittiglio and up the decisive Orino climb. In the past, the race has been won by sprinters and climbers alike, which always makes for an exciting event to watch.
Binda marks Brodie Chapman’s debut at the UCI World Tour level. Chapman had a strong start to the season in Australia with her victory at the Women’s Herald Sun Tour and 6th place at the Australian National Championships, and is looking forward to the joining her teammates in Europe.
Alison Jackson, who recently won the Queen of the Mountains competition in last weekend’s UCI World Tour event, Ronde van Drenthe, is also in good form and looking forward to the race ahead. Last year at Binda, Jackson finished in the top 30 and will be looking to improve on that result.
“We’ve stepped up this year to provide a really strong WWT racing calendar for our riders” said Linda Jackson, Founder of Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank. “Alison showed her good form by winning the QOM jersey last weekend at the Drenthe World Tour race. A crash near the end of the race kept her out of contention for the overall, so Trofeo Alfredo Binda will be another opportunity for the team to get some results.”
