Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank is the longest running professional women’s cycling team in North America.  Since 2004, the team’s mission has been to help aspiring female cyclists achieve their dreams of becoming top International competitors.  The team has had numerous riders named to Olympic and World Championship squads and has produced several national champions.

National Championships Continue for Team TIBCO – Silicon Valley Bank

The National Championships continue this week in Ottawa, Ontario and Louisville, Kentucky. Lex Albrecht will take part in the Canadian national criterium championships on June 28th. The U.S based squad, along with newly crowned double Guatemalan champion Nicolle Bruderer will compete in the team time trial on Thursday June 29th The U.S. criterium championships will be held on July 2nd. Nicolle Bruderer has doubled up on her Guatemalan National Championship titles by winning the road race solo yesterday. This win followed her very strong ride to win the national Individual time trial championship earlier this week. “I will be honored to wear my countries colors on the road” said a very happy Nicolle. “Two gold medals and two titles is very special for me. Lauren Stephens rode to a convincing silver medal to the current World Champion in the U.S. National Championships Individual Time Trial today in Knoxville, Tennessee. Stephens was nearly five seconds up on World Champion Amber Neben at the first intermediate time check. Neben came back by checkpoint two and pulled away later in the race to take the win. Stephens finished strongly in 2nd and was over 30 seconds up on the 3rd place rider, Leah Thomas. An Upcoming Weekend of National Championships for Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank

American, Canadian and German National Championships are on tap for this weekend. Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank hopes to add to it’s National Championship tally following Ingrid Drexel's double success at the Mexican Championships and Nicolle Bruderer's Guatemalan ITT Championship victory. Nicolle Bruderer raced to the Guatemalan Individual Time Trial championship this past weekend. It was the first national title for the 23-year-old from Guatemala City, who has shown strong progress with the team this year. "It is a dream come true to be Guatemalan National Champion. Wearing my national colors is a very special feeling. It makes all the time being away from home very worthwhile. My thanks must go to Team TIBCO – Silicon Valley Bank for believing in me in 2017 and giving me the opportunity to chase my dreams."

Highs and lows for Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank at the North Star Bicycle Festival

It was a week that started on a high note with Brie Walle looking to defend her 2016 title. Brie had a great ride in the opening individual time trial, finishing less than 0.2 seconds behind the leader for second place. Then things started turning downhill for Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank. On the second stage, the St. Paul criterium, a large crash towards the end of the race took Kate Buss and Ingrid Drexel down. Both riders went to the emergency room and had to abandon the race; Kate suffered a broken collar bone and Ingrid bruised her ribs and sustained damage to her knee. Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank has not missed an edition of the North Star Grand Prix (formerly called the Nature Valley Grand Prix) since it first competed in the event in 2005. 2006 was a special year for the team as team Founder Linda Jackson recalls: “ We had a new rider on the team, Brooke Miller. It was her first year of racing and she “screamed to victory” in the Cannon Falls road race, upsetting all of the favorites. That race was the start of a terrific career for Brooke and was one of those special moments in the team’s history that I will never forget." Double Podium Weekend for Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank

Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank took podium places on both days at the Armed Forces Cycling Classic this weekend in Arlington, Virginia. In Saturday's Clarendon Cup Kendall Ryan sprinted to 2nd place. In Sunday's Crystal Cup criterium, it was Ingrid Drexel's turn for the podium. Drexel took 3rd on the day and ended up in 2nd place in the overall Omnium standings. The team now heads to the North Star Grand Prix in Minneapolis, the last team race prior to the National Championships at the end of the month. Training and Criterium week for Team TIBCO – Silicon Valley Bank

With summer rapidly approaching, Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank is nearing the end of its three-month long block of North American racing. Riders are currently in New Jersey for a TTT camp before the Armed Forces Cycling Classic races in Arlington, Virginia this coming weekend. The following week will see the team compete at the North Star Grand Prix in Minneapolis June 14 -18. The National Championships (June 24-29) conclude the Team’s North American block and will be followed by a return to Europe for the duration of the summer.
