Lauren Stephens takes 2nd place at Tour of the Gila Criterium and moves into lead in Points Classifi

Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank scored a second podium at Tour of the Gila today, with Lauren Stephens taking second place in the Silver City criterium. With 11 laps to go the team was on the front of the peloton chasing down an early break. From that point on, Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank animated the race sending serious moves up the road with Brianne Walle and Lex Albrecht to set Lauren up. In the end it came down to a reduced bunch sprint with Lauren taking second on the line to Emma White. The second-place finish moved Lauren into the lead in the points classification. Ed Beamon commented: "The plan today was to go for the stage win as our GC position is a little behind the eig

Lex Albrecht wins Tour of Gila Stage Two

At the end of a long day, Lex Albrecht out sprinted Taylor Wiles yesterday to win the second stage of Tour of the Gila. The stage started with GC Leader Katie Hall’s team controlling the peloton. A cross headwind discouraged any serious break attempts, but hard climbing and rolling hills dwindled the peloton. As the bunch approached the final series of climbs with twenty-five kilometers to go, a four-rider break had established a fifty-second advantage. Hall was forced to lead the chase on the penultimate climb into a stiff headwind. As the main bunch crested the climb the break was absorbed and the bunch re-grouped on the descent. With less than thirty riders remaining, attacks started fl

Tour of the Gila up next for Team TIBCO–Silicon Valley Bank

3rd Place for Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank 2015 National Criterium Champion

Kendall Ryan sprinted to 3rd place last night at the Sunny King Criterium in Anniston, Alabama. Two early crashes took out half the field and both Jennifer Tetrick and Nicolle Bruderer were unable to continue. Nicolle did get on a spare bike after her crash and worked hard to bring back a threatening break. Once that move was back, she had to abandon the race. Outnumbered 6:2 by fuller squads, Ryan positioned herself behind the UHC lead out train as it became apparent that it was going to be a bunch sprint. Lauren Hall took home a well-deserved win, Erica Allar second and Kendall third. Kendall Ryan: “Really sad my teammates were caught up in the crashes, but all are okay and will be ab

Team TIBCO - Silicon Valley Bank riders leave it all on the road for their Captain and win Team Clas

When team Captain, Lauren Stephens effectively had a same-time finish as Ruth Winder in the stage 1 individual time trial, her teammates knew it was going to take everything they had to battle for the overall win. Stage 2 was an active race with a lot of attacks, but at the end of the day Winder won the stage and took a 10 second lead by virtue of time bonuses. Stephens took third on the day and stayed in second overall. Stage 3 saw a large break go up the road and although Nicolle Bruderer was present for Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank, so was 6th place Katie Hall. Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank chased for over 60 kilometers to bring the break back. With just five kilometers to go, Stephe
