// Q&A with Katherine
Before I started cycling I did swimming and fencing, but I was always missing something. For me cycling combines everything I like about sports: It’s endurance based, but you can also ride hard and leave it all out on the road, if you want to. You get to see new places and areas during training and racing while spending time outside. But my favorite thing about Cycling is, that it brings people together, you can ride at different speeds, distances, and terrains, but it’s all the same sport and we can still train and ride together on some days. That’s really cool.
What's your motivation (even when the weather's tough)?
It’s an old saying, but bad weather is only a matter of the right clothing. If the weather is tough I put lights on my bike to stay visible in traffic, mud guards to stay as dry as possible and put on warm clothing and then I go (as professional cyclists we are quite privileged in our choices of clothing, so weather isn’t an excuse anymore;))
Black Forest Loop: Freiburg - St. Märgen - St. Peter - Freiburg. This is a 55km loop from Freiburg and in a short time you can still get a good workout in and enjoy the view down to Freiburg and into the Vosges if the weather is good. I often do intervals on the climbs there and as a reward afterwards I like to finish my ride with the descent from St. Märgen back to Freiburg.
Being the best I can be and racing the Tour de France Femme.
When not riding, I like to...:
Spending time with Friends and family, drinking good coffee and exploring new places.Spend time with my family.

Any advice to future // aspiring cyclists?
Keep it fun! Enjoy your ride, no matter how long or fast you ride.
